The brain behind the many applications used to facilitate CYGNUS.CC members, also known as .CC’s genius programmer.
After graduating high school he applied for .CC’s entrance exams on a whim and ended up with the lowest exam-results in the company’s history. Despite his results thanks to his unparalleled programming skills, his technological sense and the sheer fact that at the time of their Japan-tour.CC was low on members he still managed to get hired.

He got teamed up with Navi for.CC’s intelligence work and ever since has been made to do all kinds of troublesome things for Navi’s sake. One of which was developing artificial vocal chords and limbs for Eliza. These inventions had him promoted to a member of the 3rd Dance Division. Shinya is known as the mood maker of his Department, his nickname is “MAYA.”

Note: Why Maya? Maya is another way to read Shinya’s name. It is also a nod to the ancient Mayan culture in which many strange artefacts were found amongst the ruins. Shinya’s gadgets always look like they came from a different planet so they started calling him “Maya.”

CYGNUS.CCの会員向けアプリ開発に携わるプログラマ。高校を卒業後、気まぐれで入社試験を受け史上最低点を叩き出す。しかし類い希なるプログラムの技術とセンス、そして日本公演前の人員不足もあって採用となった。

世界の精鋭が集う同社内ではおちこぼれだが、卑屈になることない気ままな性格の持ち主。勤務外は自室に引き篭って趣味の独創的なガジェット製作に勤しんでいるものの、一切職務には活かせていない。

そんな折、業務でタッグを組んだ奇術課の東篠航一郎に目をつけられ、以後あらゆる仕事を無茶ぶりされるようになる。そしてエリザの義体パーツを任されたことが彼にとって大きな転機となり、その後正式に舞踊Ⅲ課の一員となる。同課のムードメーカーで、愛称はマヤくん。
